Keiko Nobumoto, the well-known author behind Cowboy Bebop, Tokyo Godfathers, and Macross Plus, died on December 1 after a fight with esophageal cancer. The news of her death was verified by fellow anime author Dai Sato on Facebook . A personal funeral service was held for her on December 4. She was 57.
