As film and television companies continue to reboot any ’80s and ’90s IP they can find, Netflix is taking us back to The Baby-Sitters Club. Today, it was announced a familiar face will be joining the beloved babysitters.

On Tuesday, the first major casting news emerged for the series, which will reboot Ann M. Martin’s best-selling books. Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) and Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains) will play leading roles in the reboot, which is set for a ten-episode first season.

The books follow the adventures of five teenage girls in Connecticut. Although casting news for the titular babysitters has yet to be announced, the creative team is falling into place. Back in February, Netflix announced that Rachel Shukert (Glow) will show run and Lucia Aniello (Broad City) is slated to direct and executive produce.

Netflix is talking about the series as a dramedy and promises to tackle serious themes like divorce, racism, and identity.

Upon the initial announcement of the reboot, Melissa Cobb, Netflix’s VP of kids and family, told the Hollywood Reporter:

“The themes of The Baby-Sitters Club still resonate 30 years after the original book series was released, and there has never been a more opportune time to tell an aspirational story about empowering young female entrepreneurs. Together with Ann M. Martin and the team at Walden Media, our ambition is to contemporize the storylines and adventures of this iconic group of girlfriends to reflect modern-day issues.”
